FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for determination of bone callus formation by ultrasonic compression elastography. Fracture region is visualized. Examination is carried out on ultrasonic scanners equipped with the Compression elastography mode, using linear sensors with frequency of 8–16 MHz, in "B" mode and compression elastography mode. Ultrasonic sensor is installed in the projection of the zone of interest, an active poly-position scanning is performed, the position of the sensor is fixed, the ultrasonic compression elastography mode is switched on. Sections of different stiffness are mapped by different colors, which is reflected on the color scale of the monitor. Bone wheel and callus alternatively are rotated by rotating the trackball, one or more control volumes freely movable and variable in size. At the same time on the monitor there displayed are quantitative indices of SR deformation coefficient, which tends to one - 1.0, in the course of bone callus formation and its stiffness growth.

EFFECT: method provides diagnosing bone callus formation using a deformation factor as a criterion for assessing the formation of callus.
