FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machining of metals and can be used in investigation of temperature state of cutting process during drilling. Method comprises fastening a metal workpiece in a lathe chuck, wherein the metal workpiece is electrically isolated from the cartridge by a dielectric bushing, and treatment of said workpiece by means of drill electrically isolated from machine, during which thermo-EMF is measured by means of millivoltmeter connected by appropriate electric wires to drill and to current collector electrically connected to said workpiece. Electric wires connected to the millivoltmeter are placed in the ice vessel.
EFFECT: use of the invention increases accuracy of measuring thermo-EMF during drilling by a naturally formed thermocouple method.
