FIELD: mechanical processing of materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the study of the temperature state of the cutting process during drilling by the method of naturally forming a thermocouple. The method includes fixing the workpiece by means of a split metal sleeve, a split ebonite sleeve and an ebonite gasket, which are located in a metal cup, in a three-jaw chuck, which is fixedly mounted on a table of a drilling machine, and drilling of the said workpiece by means of a drill electrically isolated from the machine, installed in a three-jaw chuck, located on the spindle of the drilling machine. At the same time, during drilling, thermo-EMF is measured using a millivoltmeter electrically connected to the drill and to the said workpiece by means of electric wires, the junction of which is placed in a container with ice. To transfer the thermo-EMF from the movable drill to the millivoltmeter, a dielectric bushing is installed on the spindle of the drilling machine with a copper bushing located on the outer side, which is in contact with the graphite current collector, while a constant electrical contact is provided by a spring located between the ebonite guide and the thrust bushing.

EFFECT: invention can be used in the study of the temperature state of the cutting process during drilling by the method of naturally forming thermocouple.
