FIELD: security printing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to secure printing, such as banknotes and identity documents, against counterfeiting and illicit reproduction and a method of producing layers with an effect. Invention provides for processes of magnetic transfer of one or more signs into still hardened coating layer, made from coating composition, containing platelet magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles, to obtain layers with optical effect (OEL) as counterfeit means on protected documents and articles or for decorative purposes.

EFFECT: invention provides improved technology of magnetic character transfer with creation of layers with OEL, having improved reflecting appearance, which are easy to implement and are capable of operating at high operating speed, providing creation of OEL, having not only attracting relief and/or 3D-effect, but also bright appearance with good resolution.
