FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to a method for prediction of the risk of developing ischemic stroke in females over 50 years old, involving a blood serum lipid analysis, characterized by that the total blood serum total cholesterol is determined, pulse wave velocity is measured on a carotid-femoral segment and a predicted stroke rate is calculated by formula: CS = 0.018 × HCo × VPWc-f, where CS is a prognostic coefficient of stroke, 0.018 is a nonlinear regression constant for the given model, HCo is total cholesterol concentration (mmol/l), VPWc-f - speed of pulse wave propagation on carotid-femoral segment (m/s), and if the coefficient is more than 1, a high risk of developing a stroke is predicted, if the coefficient is less than 1, a low risk of stroke is predicted.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the possibility of accurate prediction of the risk of developing ischemic stroke in females older than 50 years when implementing the method according to the invention.
