DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR RESPIRATORY VIRAL INFECTION IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/08 G01N33/92 G01N33/558

Abstract RU 2741508 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosis of respiratory viral infection in children. Content of isocaproic and caproic acids is determined in a child in saliva by gas-liquid chromatography. Then, using classification equations of linear discriminant analysis, calculating the value of diagnostic coefficients confirming presence or absence of respiratory viral infection by formulas: F1=-185.459*iC6+883.891*C6-2.241; F2=-25.8862*iC6+427.7867*C6-1.8652, where F1 is the diagnostic coefficient, at the maximum value of which the respiratory virus is detected; F2 – diagnostic coefficient, at maximum value of which the respiratory virus is not detected; iC6 is relative concentration of isocaproic acid; C6 is relative concentration of caproic acid; if F1 is more than F2 – diagnosing presence of respiratory virus in patient, and if F1 is less than F2, absence of respiratory virus is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables diagnosing respiratory viral infection in children by determining concentrations of short-chain fatty acids in saliva by gas chromatography and generating results by classification equations of discriminant analysis, confirming presence or absence of respiratory viral infection in a child, that enables to take into account the presence of pathogenic respiratory viruses regardless of their species belonging by a metabolic impression of oropharynx microbiocenosis, id est by microbiota reaction and change of metabolic pathways of substrate fermentation.
