DEVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF DISORDERS OF THE VESTIBULAR APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61N1/05 A61N1/36 A61N2/10 A61N5/06

Abstract RU 2744051 C1

FIELD: medical tech.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology. A device for treating disorders of the vestibular apparatus contains a plate for placement in the patient's mouth and an array of interacting electrodes placed on it for generating electrical impulses, a constant magnetic field source and a control circuit. The constant magnetic field source is a magnet located in the device so that it is positioned over the points of tongue stimulation during the procedure. The control circuit generates sequences of impulses, with the help of which the action on the cranial nerves, on the afferent nerve fibers of the trigeminal and / or facial nerves is carried out. Impact is the supply of a constant magnetic field and the supply of electrical impulses. Treatment and prevention of motion sickness symptoms is provided, which would provide a long-term effect and would not require its mandatory use in situations that provoke the symptoms of this condition, due to the electrical effect on the cranial nerves of the patient in the environment of a constant magnetic field, which leads to the harmonization of the significance of the signals from the external sense organs involved in the formation of a sense of balance and body position, which in turn leads to the elimination of the initial conflict between signals that enter the central nervous system from the vestibular apparatus and the organs of vision. Electric impulse exposure against the background of exposure to a constant magnetic field allows influencing the membrane potential of the nerve fiber, which improves blood circulation in the affected area and facilitates the emergence of a nerve impulse in the stimulated nerve.

EFFECT: neuroplasticity is enhanced, providing more rapid training of the brain in new skills, in particular motor skills and the ability to maintain balance.
