SUBSTANCE: invention relates to imaging coding tools. The first partitioning information for the first destination block is received via a bitstream. When the first partitioning information displays that the first destination block is partitionable, the first destination block is partitioned into the first sub-blocks. Partitioning information of a multiple partitioning tree (MPT) for the second destination block is received via the bitstream, wherein the second destination block constitutes one of the first sub-blocks of the first destination block. The second destination block is partitioned into the second sub-blocks based on the partitioning information of the MPT. The second sub-blocks are decoded, wherein the second sub-blocks constitute non-square blocks. The partitioning information of the MPT contains an MPT partitioning flag for the second destination block. The MPT partitioning flag displays whether the second destination block is partitionable into second sub-blocks constituting non-square blocks. When the value of the MPT partitioning flag equals 1, the partitioning information of the MPT contains information of the MPT partitioning type and information of the MPT partitioning direction for the second destination block.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of imaging decoding.
