FIELD: storage of gases.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the storage of gases. A gas storage method and a porous gas-absorbing monolith, wherein the gas is brought into contact with a gas storage system containing a porous gas-absorbing monolith. The monolith has less than approximately 100 cubic cm/l-m (cubic centimeters per liter of monolith) of volume in pores with dimensions of less than approximately 9 E; more than approximately 200 cubic cm/l-m of volume in pores with dimensions ranging from approximately 9 to 27E; more than approximately 50 cubic cm/l-m of volume in pores with dimensions ranging from approximately 27 to 490 E. The product density is at least 0.4 gram/cubic cm. The working weight capacity is not more than 40 lb/GGE (gasoline gallon equivalent) and/or the volume capacity is not more than 35 l/GGE.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining specific indicators of weight and volume capacity of gas-absorbing monolith with the distribution of pores of a certain size.
