FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: grayscale scanning of the eyeball is performed using a multifunctional ultrasound scanner to determine the parameters of the tumor. Further, in the histogram mode, the zone of interest is outlined and an amplitude histogram is built, according to which the acoustic density of the tumor in decibels is automatically determined. According to the acoustic density of the choroidal melanoma, the degree of vascularization of the neoplasm is determined taking into account the following parameters: with a value in the range of 24.38-33.15 dB, the tumor is defined as hypervascular, and with a value in the range of 34.18-42.23 dB - as hypo- or avascular.
EFFECT: method improves accuracy of assessment of vascularization of choroidal melanoma by its acoustic density.
