SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for making edge protection strips from a ceramic material, for example, edge protection strips made with a surface finish similar to that of tiles connected to them. The technical result described below is achieved by the fact that the method for making strips to protect the edges of ceramic material contains steps in which a sheet product made of ceramic material is placed with the said sheet product being extended along the longitudinal axis and having a front surface, the front surface of the sheet product is cut along two separate incision planes parallel to each other, orthogonal to the front surface, while each of these incision planes intersects the front surface of the sheet product along the incision line parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sheet product, the sheet product is cut along two cutting planes, each of which intersects the incision plane along the cutting line parallel to the incision lines, and which mutually converge into the intersection line located in the depth of the sheet product, and separate an essentially prismatic strip to protect the edges from the sheet product, with the strip to protect the edges containing the first section of the front surface, which is internal relative to the incision lines.

EFFECT: creation of strips with front surfaces that are as similar as possible to the front surfaces of the tiles with which these strips are connected.
