METHOD FOR FORECASTING EFFICIENCY OF LOW-INTENSITY LASER THERAPY IN SECRETORY ASTENOZOSPERMIA Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61N5/67 A61P15/08 G01N33/48 G01N33/74

Abstract RU 2748895 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to urology, clinical andrology, and can be used to predict the effectiveness of low-intensity laser therapy in secretory asthenozoospermia. Before starting therapy, plasma levels of total testosterone, free testosterone, luteinizing hormone, prolactin and estradiol are determined. After that one should determine the value of the discriminant function by the formula:

F=-0,125×testTotal+0,077×ftest+0,199×lh+0,010×prl+0,003×est-4,707,

where F is the value of the discriminant function; testTotal - the level of total testosterone in blood plasma (nmol/l); ftest is the level of free testosterone in blood plasma (pmol/l); lh - the level of luteinizing hormone in the blood plasma (IU/l); prl is the level of prolactin in blood plasma (mIU/l); est is the level of estradiol in blood plasma (pmol/l). For F<0, low-intensity laser therapy will be effective in normalizing the number of progressively motile forms of spermatozoa. For F≥0, laser therapy is ineffective.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the effectiveness of LILT in secretory male infertility, manifested by asthenozoospermia, individually for each patient, ease of implementation, reduction in the number of unjustified procedures through the use of routine diagnostic methods - determining the hormonal status and parameters of the ejaculate - commonly used laboratory tests assigned to all patients with male infertility.
