SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sealed thermal insulation tank for storage of a fluid medium. The tank has a wall (1) containing, in the direction of thickness from the outside to the inside of the reservoir, a load-bearing structure (3), a primary thermal insulation barrier (5) and a primary sealing membrane (6) located near the primary thermal insulation barrier (5) and intended for contact with the fluid medium stored in the tank. The primary insulation barrier (5) comprises a primary insulation panel (16) including a supporting area (37) communicating with a fastening apparatus (38). The fastening apparatus (38) abuts against the supporting area (37) of the outer rigid plate (19) so as to hold said plate in the direction of the load-bearing structure (3). The primary insulation barrier (5) is comprised of a reinforcing insulation insert (43) extending in the direction of thickness from the supporting area (37) of the outer rigid plate (19) to a separate area of the primary sealing membrane (6) so as to take compressive forces that may impact the separate area (26) of the primary sealing membrane (6). The reinforcing insulation insert (43) is comprised of a polymer foam layer (45) with a compression yield point exceeding the compression yield point of the polymer foam layer (17) of the primary insulation panel (16).

EFFECT: increased resistance of the reservoir to pressure jumps that can be caused by fluid movement within the reservoir.
