SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to vascular surgery, and can be used in the laboratory diagnosis of apoptosis in the vascular wall in obliterating atherosclerosis of the arteries of the lower extremities (OAALE). A method for determining the parameters of apoptosis in the homogenate of the vascular wall in the area of atherosclerotic plaque in patients with OAALE is that the blood serum is examined by enzyme immunoassay. As indicators of apoptosis, the number of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins is determined by the formulas: X= 0.802 – 0.633*Y + 0.224*Y2 – 0.015*Y3, where X is the amount of Bcl - 2 protein in the vascular wall homogenate, Y is the amount of Bcl-2 protein in the blood serum; K = 12.46 - 0.875*M + 0.025*M2, where K is the amount of Bax protein in the vascular wall homogenate, M is the amount of Bax protein in the blood serum.

EFFECT: invention provides the determination of the amount of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins in the vascular wall homogenate by their amount in the blood serum of patients with OAALE.
