FIELD: vehicle tyres.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to reduction of noise from tyres for vehicle wheels. A sequence of tyres is supplied to a workstation (1); then a plurality (S1) of noise-reducing elements is supplied to the workstation by means of a conveyor (10); the detection system (30) is activated to identify one or more images displaying at least one noise-reducing element from the plurality (S1); a processor is activated to determine the parameters (P1) characterising the coordinates in the first plane and the angle of orientation of said at least one noise-reducing element; a command (MC1) to move is sent to a robotic hand (50) equipped with an end tool (51), for positioning and orientation of the end tool to connect said tool with said noise-reducing element and apply said noise-reducing element onto the inner surface of the tyre.

EFFECT: reduction of tyre noise due to precise application of noise-reducing elements onto the radially inner surface of the tyre.
