FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of the location of target apparatuses in wireless communication systems. The described technical result is achieved by the fact that the target apparatus (10) determines one or several displacements of the target apparatus (10) relative to the reference position based on measurements conducted by at least one location source, then sends a report to the network node (20), containing one or several determined displacements of the target apparatus (10) and the reference time that the reference location is associated with. The network node receives a report from the target apparatus (10), containing one or several determined displacements of the target apparatus (10) relative to the reference location, wherein one or several displacements are determined based on the measurements conducted by at least one location source, and the reference time that the reference position is associated with. The network node (20) determines the absolute location of the target apparatus (10) based on one or several determined displacements and the reference location associated with the reference time.

EFFECT: improved productivity of the wireless communication network, particularly, due to the improved determination of the location of the target apparatus.
