SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to submarines that destroy the ice cover by the resonance method. A device for breaking the ice cover is proposed, which is a submarine capable of moving under the ice at a resonant speed and exciting resonant flexural-gravitational waves. On the surface of the bow end of the vessel, vibrators are installed, which are made with the possibility of periodically switching on with a frequency equal to the frequency of resonant flexural-gravitational waves for a time equal to half the period of these waves.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the thickness of the destroyed ice cover.
