FIELD: photoelectronic devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of photoelectronic devices and can be used in the manufacture of microchannel plates used in photomultiplier tubes, electron-optical converters and various types of radiation detectors. The microchannel plate contains a glass matrix of microchannels, an input electrode, an output electrode, and an ion barrier film that is formed of carbon over the input electrode in such a way that it closes the inputs to the microchannels. In this case, the walls of the microchannels of the matrix have electrical conductivity and the ability to secondary electron emission, and the ion-barrier film is formed from particles sputtered from a mass of graphite-containing material by the electron-beam method.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of means for a similar purpose, increases the manufacturability of the process of manufacturing a microchannel plate, expands the scope of its application and reduces ion-feedback during the operation of a microchannel plate in a photoelectronic device, while maintaining the quality of the output signal and the level of amplification of the microchannel plate when it is operating in a photoelectronic device.
