SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, mainly to methods for thermal hardening of products from hard alloys, used for the manufacture of cutting and drilling equipment. The method of heat treatment of cutting inserts made of hard alloy T5K10 includes quenching and tempering. Quenching and tempering in the electrolyte of a ten percent hydrochloric acid solution is carried out from 1 to 3 times, while quenching is carried out at a temperature of 1100±25°C with an exposure of 3±1 min, and tempering - at a temperature of 600±5°C with an exposure of 30±1 min.

EFFECT: improvement of mechanical properties is provided.
