FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cast iron shaft furnace taphole. The taphole comprises a taphole brick, a taphole wall with an alcove, and a furnace armour. The alcove and the taphole bricks at the end are made with an entrance part, whereon a layer of fire-resistant adhesive mastic is applied during installation of the taphole brick. The taphole brick is made with the dimensions of 580°530 mm from the MKN-94 corundum ramming mass with the addition of 3% foscon in a rod box and inside has a metal frame and a steel sector welded thereto, made of alloyed chromium and nickel steel 12H18N10T, wherein nine steel bars are welded to the steel sector, and a steel steering wheel is welded thereto. Three threaded steel studs are welded on the furnace armour, whereon the taphole brick is secured by three steel plates, three nuts, three spring washers in the alcove of the furnace in order to fix and retain the taphole brick from the pressure of molten metal. A pouring lip is secured on the front side of the taphole brick with five threaded studs and two plates welded to the steel sector and the pouring lip, and a conical hole with the dimensions of 26°40 mm is made in the centre of the taphole brick.
EFFECT: increased service life of the taphole brick and reduced time for replacement thereof in case of wear are provided.
