FIELD: electronic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic engineering, in particular to electron guns for O-type microwave devices with long-term and discrete interaction. The electron gun of the microwave device contains a housing in which a heater, a cathode with a control electrode and an anode are installed. The centers of the anode, cathode and control electrode coincide with the longitudinal axis of the electron gun. The heater is made in the form of an additional electrode, and a field emission layer is additionally applied to the cathode surface facing the heater.
EFFECT: reducing the energy consumption of the electron gun of the microwave device, reducing the heating time of the cathode and increasing the reliability of the device as a whole.
