FIELD: vehicle behavior predicting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for predicting the behavior of a vehicle. A method for predicting the behavior of a vehicle comprises detecting the position of an object, in relation to the vehicle in question, located in front of or to the side of the vehicle in question, by using a sensor, detecting a moving object that moves further than said object from the vehicle in question by using sensor. The method also comprises calculating a blind spot region around the vehicle in question caused by said object, in which said sensor cannot detect, assuming the detection availability period from the moment when the moving object is detected to the moment when the moving object enters the blind spot region, into the case where a moving object moves along a predetermined course after being detected. Comparing the estimated detection availability period with the actual detection availability period and predicting the course of a moving object in accordance with the comparison result.
EFFECT: timely forecasting of the course of a moving object is achieved.
