SUBSTANCE: invention relates to encoding and decoding of video data. Two points of a straight line are determined, wherein each of the two points is defined by two variables, wherein the first variable of the two variables corresponds to the brightness selection and the second variable corresponds to the chromaticity selection. The parameters representing a straight line passing through the two points are determined. To determine at least one of said parameters, integer arithmetic is used therein, using at least a mathematical function, the result whereof is limited to an integer.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of video decoding.
