FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of continuous thin articles which are wound into a roll. Method of making rolls (B1, B2ⁱ) of continuous thin articles includes tracking of parameters of the article, detected at the stages of winding rolls, wherein the method comprises a first step, at which primary roll (B1) is wound, and a subsequent second step, called rewinding, on which said primary roll (B1) is rewound into said plurality of secondary rolls (B2ⁱ), wherein at the rewinding step: cutting common support core (14) into a plurality of secondary support cores (18ⁱ), on which the product will be reeled, wherein their transverse width is equal to the transverse width of the required secondary rolls (B2ⁱ); thin article is cut so that two or more strips are obtained; said strips are rewound onto corresponding secondary support cores (18ⁱ), to obtain secondary rolls (B2ⁱ) of a thin article. Installation for production of rolls of thin products is characterized by the fact that it is made with possibility of implementation of this method.

EFFECT: inventions make it possible to optimally produce rolls of continuous thin products by means of tracking of defects on the product surface and/or in thickness, which allow to prevent idle time.
