FIELD: horse breeding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to horse breeding and can be used to select stallions with high quality cryopreserved sperm. The method for assessing the quality of cryopreserved stallion sperm by the concentration of cholesterol in the seminal plasma includes the selection of sperm and obtaining sperm plasma. Next, the concentration of cholesterol in the seminal plasma is determined. If the cholesterol concentration in seminal plasma is below 0.18 mmol/l, the stallion should be referred to the group with high quality of cryopreserved sperm, if the cholesterol concentration in seminal plasma is above 0.18 mmol/l, respectively, to the group with low quality of cryopreserved sperm.
EFFECT: invention allows to select stallions with high quality cryopreserved sperm.
