FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: system is described for detecting a target agent, containing: an analytical cartridge including a test cell containing an exciting electrode and a sensor electrode, wherein the test cell is made with the possibility of accommodating a sample containing the target agent subjected to the amplification process, wherein the specified target agent contains nucleic acid; and a reading device including: an area made with the possibility of receiving the analytical cartridge, a heater located in such a way that to heat the used analytical cartridge inside a cavity, memory storing at least machine-readable storage instructions, and a processor. In this case, the processor is configured by the specified instructions in such a way that at least: to lead to heating of the analytical cartridge by the heater to a set temperature to perform the amplification process inside the test cell; to supply excitation current to the exciting electrode for at least part of a time of the amplification process, to receive a signal from the sensor electrode, corresponding to excitation current after its attenuation due to the interaction with at least the sample inside the test cell, to decompose the specified signal to an active resistance component and a reactive resistance component, to analyze the reactive resistance component to determine a signal drop relatively to the time and on a certain frequency of the specified signal indicating a positive sample containing the target agent for at least part of a time of the amplification process, and, in response to the determination of the signal drop, to output a positive test result; or, in response to the determination of absence of the signal drop, to output a negative test result. A device and a method for studying a sample for a target agent are also described.
EFFECT: invention provides a low-cost device that is undemanding to resources, provides quick and stable sensor detection and identification; such a device can use microfluidics, biochemistry and electronics to detect one or more targets simultaneously in the field, as well as near the place or in the place of provision of medical services.
