FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology for diagnosing diesel internal combustion engines (ICE). Proposed method for identifying cyclic fuel supply in an ICE is applicable both in testing and in verification of the technical condition of the ICE in operating conditions and consists in the fact that in the free acceleration mode and in the steady-state full load mode of the ICE, cyclic fuel supply through the sections of the injection pump is identified by the difference of temperatures measured by temperature sensors 7 on the outer surface of the high-pressure fuel line 6 before and after the heater 9 installed on the outer surface of the high-pressure fuel line 6, at constant or variable heating power 9. Also proposed is an apparatus for implementing the described method, containing, connected in series, a reference measurement frequency identifier 3, an electronic key 4, a thermal flow meter 1, an identifier 2 of cyclic fuel supply through the sections of the fuel pump and the engine, and a constant setter 5 connected with the second input of the identifier 2 of cyclic fuel supply through the sections of the fuel pump and the engine.
EFFECT: simplification and reduction of labour intensity of measurement.
