SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, psychiatry and geriatrics, and can be used to predict the recovery of functions impaired as a result of cerebral stroke in elderly men. In the acute period of stroke, the level of total testosterone is determined by the method for chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay on microparticles. With a total testosterone level of 8.9 Nmol/l or more, a favorable dynamics of the restoration of impaired functions is predicted. With a total testosterone level of 5.2 Nmol/l or less, a high probability of unsatisfactory results in the restoration of impaired functions is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides an objective prediction of the dynamics of the recovery process of impaired functions in elderly men even in the acute period of a stroke, which allows a personalized approach to the choice of rehabilitation treatment tactics by determining testosterone in the blood.
