SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for reduction and/or avoidance of excessive accumulation of adipose tissue mass and/or health disorder related to excessive accumulation of adipose tissue mass in further life in an infant or a young child. The method includes administration to an infant or a young child of a nutritional composition containing at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide, wherein at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide has at least one fucose group attached by means of alpha-1,3-bond, at least one fucose group attached by means of alpha-1,4-bond, or combinations thereof, while at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide includes difucosyllactose (DFL) in amount of 0.02-2.78 g/100 g of the nutritional composition per dry matter weight, and the infant or the young child was born by a mother carrying SNP rs3894326.

EFFECT: proposed method contributes to normal growth in an infant or young children, and it may contribute to the prevention of excessive accumulation of adipose tissue mass.
