SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a method for identifying a biovar of bacteria Acinetobacter baumannii bv. tryptophandestruens, which includes inoculation of the studied daily agar culture of A. baumannii on the surface of a nutrient medium containing enzymatic peptone, NaCl, substrate for the chromogenic reaction, bromthymol blue, FeCl3 6H2O, microbiological agar, NaOH for pH adjustment, distilled water; incubation of crops under aerobic conditions at 37°C for 18-24 hours; determination of the belonging of bacteria to the tryptophandestruens A. baumannii biovar by the appearance of a dark brown color of the nutrient medium around the lawns of the studied bacteria. At the same time, sodium benzoate, or potassium benzoate, or benzoic acid is used as a substrate for a specific chromogenic reaction in a nutrient medium, which are added after all other ingredients have been dissolved by heating; adjust the pH of the medium; sterilize the medium at 121°C for 20 minutes; pH 7.2±0.2.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the diagnostic sensitivity of the method for identifying the biovar of bacteria A. baumannii bv. Tryptophandestruens.
