FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for phenotypic identification of Acinetobacter seifertii bacteria, which involves: preliminary selection of a bacterial culture with a set of signs of the A. calcoaceticus-A. baumannii complex and the absence of auxotrophy; suspension of agar culture in 0.85% sodium chloride solution; inoculation of the suspension by streaking on a nutrient medium containing a single carbon source, D-xylose, NH4Cl, NH4NO3, Na2SO4, K2HPO4, KH2PO4, MgSO4, bromothymol blue 1.6% solution, bacteriological agar and distilled water in specified ratios, as well as inoculation of bacteria suspension on the same medium without D-xylose. Aerobic incubation is carried out at 30 °C for 24-48 hours with subsequent identification of A. seifertii by absence of growth on nutrient medium with D-xylose and medium without D-xylose, but presence of bacterial growth on medium with sodium acetate during preliminary selection of culture.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of phenotypic identification of Acinetobacter seifertii bacteria.
