FIELD: medical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: closing actuator mechanism and a surgical stapler. A closing drive mechanism used for a surgical stapler is comprising a head assembly, wherein the actuator mechanism comprises a trigger handle, a first slider, a locking element, a closing actuator, and a drive rod. The drive rod has a pressing part and a retracting part, and, when in initial state, the pressing part, the retracting part and at least part of the first slider are positioned on the proximal side of the locking element. When actuating the trigger handle, which is in the initial state, the first slider is moved in the distal direction by the trigger handle until it is under the locking element, thereby moving the closing actuator to close the head assembly, and the pressing part is moved in the distal direction and presses the locking element down to align with the first slider. Upon actuation of the stapler, the retracting portion moves to be positioned above the locking element, allowing the locking element to move up and at least partially enter the retracting portion to separate from the first slider. The surgical stapler comprises the above closing drive mechanism. The inventions are specific by the position of the closing actuator mechanism being fixed by tight engagement between the locking element and the first slider when the head assembly is closed, thereby avoiding displacement of the traction plate in a distal direction during the actuation process, while after actuation the closing actuator mechanism is no longer blocked by a locking element, therefore the magazine and matrix can open automatically.
EFFECT: improved operation of a surgical stapler.
