FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to devices for studying the coefficient of friction of lubricants of various compositions. The device contains a movable shaft, on which a guide sleeve is located, a conical guide sleeve, in the hole with which a linear bearing is installed, a counterbody in form of a conical sleeve in contact with the indenter, the indenter. The design of the device is equipped with an induction furnace located on the conical guide sleeve and isolated from the external environment by means of a conical heat-insulating sleeve fixed with a fixing ring. To control the heating of the contact zone of metal pairs, the design of the device is equipped with a thermocouple formed by chromel-kopel electric wires, the junction of which is located in the indenter hole. The thermocouple formed by the chromel-copel electrical wires is connected through rings and current collectors to an amplifier electrically connected to an analog-to-digital converter, which, in turn, is connected via a cable to a personal computer containing PowerGraphProfessional software, configured with the ability to plot a graphic dependence of the friction temperature.

EFFECT: expanding the arsenal of technical means to improve the accuracy of determining the coefficient of friction of lubricants.
