SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices imitating smoking. The aerosol-generating device comprises a cavity configured to accommodate an aerosol generating article. The first sealing element is located along the side wall of the cavity and is configured to contact the first sealing wrapper of the aerosol-generating device. The first sealing element is located in the upstream portion of the cavity. The second sealing element is made with the possibility of contact with the second sealing wrapper. The second sealing element is located in the downstream part of the cavity. The device contains a power supply and an external heating element. The aerosol-generating device comprises wrapping paper wrapped around the outer circumference of the aerosol-generating device. A first sealing wrapper is capable of air-tight engagement with the first sealing element of the aerosol-generating device. The first seal wrap partially covers the wrapping paper and increases the diameter of the aerosol-generating device in the region of the first seal wrap. The second sealing wrapper is configured to enter into hermetic engagement with the second sealing element of the aerosol-generating device. The first seal wrap is located in the upstream portion of the aerosol-generating device. The second seal wrap is located in the downstream portion of the aerosol-generating device. An aerosol-generating system is claimed.

EFFECT: prevention of air flow between the side wall of the cavity and the aerosol-generating device, and between two sealing elements.
