FIELD: electrical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for the joint production of N-propylaniline and 2-ethyl-3-methylquinoline. The method consists in the interaction of aniline with n-propanol in the presence of a zeolite catalyst. The method is characterized by the fact that granular zeolite ZnCl2/NiO/Na-Yh of a high degree of crystallinity with a hierarchical (micro-meso-macroporous) structure is used as a zeolite catalyst, promoted with Ni oxide and Zn chloride, the reaction is carried out in a flow reactor with a fixed catalyst bed at 350-450°C, atmospheric pressure, feed space velocity 0.4-1.2 h-1, molar ratio of aniline: n-propanol, equal to 1:2-3, in a nitrogen environment.
EFFECT: possibility to jointly obtain N-propylaniline and 2-ethyl-3-methylquinoline without impurities of other quinolines, as well as to reduce the energy and material intensity of the heterocyclization process.
