FIELD: optical fibres.
SUBSTANCE: device for monitoring the re-emissivity of a spectral-shifting optical fibre belongs to the instrumentation in fibre optics. The light-insulating housing of the device consists of two connected parts: the housing of the PMT and the housing of the internal part of the device. The inner part consists of two guides fixed in the end fixed clamps. The first one fixes the end of the spectrum-shifting optical fibre on the surface of the input window of the PMT, and the second one comprises a connector on the outer part (relative to the body), to which the electric pulse generator is connected with a cable. The inner part of the measuring setup contains clamps that move along the guides depending on the length of the optical fibre. The clamps are of two types: auxiliary, located along the optical fibre, and systemic with a hole for fixing the end of the optical fibre and introducing radiation into the fibre. There is an LED on the system latch. The signal transmission wires are spring-like wound on the free part of the guides.
EFFECT: measuring the amplitude of an optical wave, after passing through a spectrum-shifting optical fibre, for fibres of different lengths.
