SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating product containing a filter with at least one segment formed from a biodegradable filter material. An aerosol generating article comprises: an aerosol generating substrate; a filter axially aligned with the aerosol generating substrate. The filter contains at least one filter material segment formed from one or more sheets of fibrous paper-like material. The fibrous paper-like material contains a combination of hydrophobic fibres and hydrophilic fibres such that the fibrous paper-like material has a water contact angle, measured in accordance with TAPPI/ANSI T 558 om-15, exceeding 90 degrees. At the same time, the fibrous paper-like material is characterized by biodegradability in the aquatic environment, determined in accordance with ISO 14851, 2005, of at least 70 percent of the decomposition of the reference cellulose sample during 56 days of testing. Hydrophobic fibres contain hydrophobic viscose fibres, and hydrophilic fibres contain plant fibres, softwood fibres or cellulose fibres.
EFFECT: increased biodegradability of the filter material while ensuring filtration efficiency and acceptable smoking sensations for the consumer.
