SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to a cutting plate holder. The cutting tool includes a cutting insert clamped in an insert holder. The plate holder includes a shank terminating at a plate mounting end portion with a transversely oriented socket for receiving the plate and has a longitudinal axis of the socket and a front opening of the socket. The plate mounting portion includes upper and lower jaws, which together define a socket for receiving the plate. One of the jaws of the plate fastening portion includes a socket locking surface facing the front hole of the socket. The upper jaw includes an outer groove recessed into the peripheral surface of the plate holder.
EFFECT: arsenal of technical means is being expanded.
