FIELD: methods for generating high-order resonant Mie modes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for generating high-order resonant Mie modes in a hollow spherical mesosized dielectric particle and can be used to obtain strong localization of electromagnetic fields in a region comparable to the wavelength, can be used as sensor elements or nanoantenna elements. The method for generating high-order superresonant Mie modes in a hollow spherical mesosized dielectric particle consists of irradiating a homogeneous spherical dielectric mesosized particle with electromagnetic radiation, determining the electric field vector and the magnetic field vector inside and outside the particle based on calculations according to the Mie theory, while the mesosized dielectric particle is spherically hollow, with a refractive index of the cavity material equal to the refractive index of the surrounding material and less than the refractive index of the cavity wall material, and the wall thickness of the spherical hollow particle changes until the appearance of super-resonant Mie modes with maximum levels of electric and magnetic field strength.
EFFECT: developing a method for generating high-order resonant Mie modes in a hollow spherical mesosized dielectric particle with a refractive index of the cavity material equal to the refractive index of the surrounding material and less than the refractive index of the cavity wall material.
