METHOD FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE REMOVAL OF FOREIGN BODIES FROM BRAIN SUBSTANCE USING NEURON NAVIGATION AND GUIDE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B34/20 A61B17/50 A61B8/13 A61M25/88 A61B90/10

Abstract RU 2814763 C1

FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: computer tomography (CT) preparation, planning, marking of a foreign body with a catheter and microsurgical removal of the foreign body are performed. One or more catheters are inserted after a point opening of the dura mater (DM) using a metal guide, directed to one or successively to each foreign body under navigation along the selected surgical trajectory. Then, upon reaching the surface of the foreign body, the metal guide is removed, leaving the guide catheter nearby the foreign body. Then the guiding catheter or catheters are sutured to the dura mater and dissected at distance of 1 cm above the dura mater surface. Then dura mater is opened for 1 cm along each catheter and under optical magnification of microscope performing microsurgical access along visually detectable catheter to foreign body or successively to each foreign body. Foreign body is removed.

EFFECT: method enables to remove foreign bodies located deep in the brain substance without performing a wide opening of the dura mater, avoiding leakage of cerebrospinal fluid through the dura mater incision, preventing intraoperative brain displacement, avoiding deviation from the planned trajectory.
