METHOD OF ASSESSING GRAPE GENOTYPES DROUGHT AND SALINITY RESISTANCE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A01G7/00 A01G17/02

Abstract RU 2815448 C2

FIELD: agriculture, viticulture.

SUBSTANCE: method involves growing plants in vegetation vessels with simulating salinity conditions with dosed addition of NaCl salt and subsequent biochemical analyses of leaves for the content of total chlorophyll. Conditions of complex drought and salinity are simulated, and grape varieties that are resistant to drought and salinity in field conditions are selected as differentiating varieties for comparison. The plants are subjected to differentiated watering at the rate of 60% of the MET with a water-salt solution with a concentration of 80 mM NaCl. The leaves are analysed for proline content. Modelling of the stress factors of drought and salinity is carried out simultaneously on fully formed plants under natural conditions of changing photoperiods and temperatures. If the chlorophyll content decreases, the grape variety is characterized as not resistant to stress; an increase in the concentration of proline is characteristic of plants resistant to stress.

EFFECT: method provides an optimal qualitative assessment of grape genotypes resistance by simultaneously studying plants’ stress factors.
