SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a charger for an aerosol-generating device comprising a cavity for accommodating the device and an insertion mechanism, as well as to a kit comprising a charger and an aerosol-generating device, as well as to a method of charging the aerosol-generating device. Charging device (10) for device (12) generating aerosol contains cavity (14) for arrangement of device and mechanism of insertion. Insertion mechanism comprises an insert component for inserting the device into cavity (14) and a charging component for moving the device into a charging position. Insertion mechanism is configured to automatically initiate operation of the charging component at the end of the operation of the insertion component. Insertion mechanism comprises an actuating element for automatic initiation of the charging component operation at the end of the insertion component operation.
EFFECT: increased speed and degree of simplicity with which the user can insert and remove the aerosol-generating device from the charging device, as well as improved electrical connection between the aerosol generating device and the charging unit.
