SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to an electrode for an electrosurgical instrument. Electrode for an electrosurgical instrument intended for plasma exposure on biological tissue comprises a main part having at least one flat side and a distally oriented tip, from which the cross-section of the electrode increases in the proximal direction. Main part of the electrode is equipped with a heat sink made in the form of a layer occupying the entire flat side of the main part, and the thermal conductivity of the combination of materials of the main part and the heat sink of the electrode is more than 20 W/(m*K).
EFFECT: use of the invention allows reducing burn-up of the electrode and prolonging its service life, increasing efficiency of heat dissipation.
