A method for creating an ice crossing involves forming a trench in the ice cover with a depth less than the thickness of the ice. The resulting ice surface is exposed to low temperatures (t<0°C) during the time required for an ice build-up to form under the ice at the excavation site. Then, through holes are made in the ice surface formed in this place. After filling the excavated trench with water, reinforcing elements are immersed in it and it is re-exposed to low temperatures for the time required for the infused water to completely freeze.
