FIELD: metal working.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working and can be used in designing assembled cylindrical cutters used for machining hard-to-machine materials. Cutter contains a body, in which there installed are tangential replaceable cutting plates with positive axial and radial front angles, located axially opposite screw groups with tangential and axial displacement along screw lines. In each screw group replaceable cutting plates are made in the right or left version depending on the direction of the screw line and are installed based on the condition of providing mutual compensation of axial components of cutting forces, division of the cut layer according to the generator scheme of cutting and free removal of fragmented chips from the cutting zone. Helical line elevation angle is selected so that the axial displacement of the adjacent replaceable cutting plates is not more than 90% of the thickness of the replaceable cutting plate, and angular displacement of one turn of screw line relative to another is not more than one angular pitch of replaceable cutting plates in screw group.
EFFECT: reduced deformation of the process system.
