FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a system for culturing cells and a method for culturing adhesive and/or non-adhesive cells. Automated cell culture system with one or more pumps configured to operate in a working cycle mode prevents excess heat release, allowing the cell culture system to operate inside a conventional incubator without overheating. Working cycle includes switching the pump between on and off modes. By starting the pumps for a short period of time, and then switching them off, less heat is released. In order to take into account, the reduction of pump operation time during the cycle, the pump can operate at a higher flow rate while it is switched on, so that the average flow rate during the cycle does not decrease. In compliance with this invention, working cycles are used wherein switching on cycle is shorter than that of switching off, and in particular, switching on cycle is less than 20% of duration of the whole working cycle.

EFFECT: inventions are used for efficient cultivation of adhesive and/or non-adhesive cells.
