SUBSTANCE: disclosed chewing gum base contains polyol, elastomer, elastomer plasticizer. Chewing gum base does not contain mineral filler or contains mineral filler in amount of less than 2% of the chewing gum base weight. Chewing gum base has a polyol dusting. Polyol is mannitol. Also disclosed is a method of making a chewing gum base by mixing an elastomer and a polyol. Chewing gum base does not contain mineral filler or contains mineral filler in amount of less than 2% of the chewing gum base weight. Additionally, the chewing gum base is sprinkled with polyol, which is mannitol. In another version, a method for manufacturing a chewing gum base with dusting according to cl. 1. Method involves sprinkling a chewing gum base with polyol. Chewing gum contains a water-soluble bulk portion, one or more flavouring agents and said chewing gum base.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at making a chewing gum base which does not contain a mineral filler, but which fully retains the function and advantages associated with the use of the mineral filler, with minimal effect on the properties of the obtained chewing gum base or on the process used to make the gum base.
