FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing 2-(4-methylquinolin-2-yl)aniline, which is used in medicine and organic electroluminescent materials. Method involves intermolecular condensation of 2-aminoacetophenone in presence of 10-30 wt.% granular zeolite catalyst H-Yh with a hierarchical porous structure, in autoclave at autogenous pressure and temperature of 120-170 °C for 5-10 hours.
EFFECT: providing an efficient heterogeneous catalytic method of producing the desired compound.
