FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to aviation, space and marine medicine. Rabbits are placed in a pressure chamber, then pressure chambers are sealed. Pressure with medical oxygen is increased to value of 40 m H2O, after 15 minutes, oxygen pressure is reduced to atmospheric pressure for 5 minutes. While staying in the pressure chamber and for 30 minutes after the rabbits are removed from the pressure chamber, the rabbit’s state is observed, and the intensity and time of onset of oxygen intoxication symptoms are determined every 10 minutes, and on 30th minute, the intensity of biochemical body status disorders is determined. Oxygen intoxication symptom severity dynamics and manifestation of biochemical body status disorders are assessed. Original formula (U) is used to determine a degree of resistance of the rabbits to the toxic effect of oxygen.

EFFECT: method enables assessing the rabbit’s resistance to the toxic effect of oxygen by assessing the oxygen intoxication symptom severity dynamics and the blood biochemical values that in turn enables providing more accurate determination of the resistance and the whole experimental study.
