SUBSTANCE: described is a method for detecting Mammarenavirus guanaritoense virus RNA by real-time RT-PCR, involving extraction of RNA from biological samples, followed by a two-step reaction – reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction for the target RNA fragments of the genome of Mammarenavirus guanaritoense, using a set of primers and a probe, complementary to a region of the protein L gene coding RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.
EFFECT: development of a highly sensitive method for identifying Mammarenavirus guanaritoense virus RNA in biological samples and other virus-containing samples.
